From the Coordinator’s Desk!
Greetings!
Pollution has been a big environmental issue all over the world. It is affecting the life of human and other beings to a greater extent. The prime causes of environmental pollution are due to human induced factors. Though, the environment has an ability to naturally repair by itself the damages induced, the situation gets worsened if the rate of damage exceeds the rate at which it could be repaired. Environmental pollution has resulted in serious consequences like global warming, unexpected climatic changes, depletion of natural resources extinction of animal and plant species and other various adverse effects leading to a lowered sustainability of life on earth. Hence, it is mandatory to keep control on pollution by identifying compounds that are pollutants, determining their safety levels and finding suitable bioremediations.
Aiming to create awareness among public on pollution, the present issue contains an article on emerging risk of nonylphenol prevalence in the aquatic environs of Tamilnadu along with other interesting topics on pollution such as reports on newly discovered bacterium that biodegrades toxic pollutants, impact of climate change on ocean life, effect of nanoplastics in marine organisms, movement of plastic waste in environments, use of a modified houseplant to clean air in the homes and many more interesting topics on the above theme.
